+ New Feature Features
Allow users to create and share their own plugins that expand the functionality of the clock. Imagine someone writing a plugin that enables another app, such as the one that controls their tv(new phones have IR blasters) to go off when they are woken up. Now they are woken up and the tv has been changed to the morning news. An open plugin system would allow the former to be made without Dandy doing it but a sharing system for plugins would allow these cool uses to be shared, expanding the usefulness of the app for free.
Enter your work or school holidays so your alarm doesn’t go off.
There are government provided sources of traffic data, eg http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/traveller/trip/index.shtml – it may not be the best but it’s the basis for a lot of other data providers. Government sources for weather data also exist and are worth looking into. Another option would be to partner with a radio station/chain of stations to provide this app. They’re already collecting details about both and it might prove an interesting form of non-traditional revenue. Radio stations have very tight finances though, so I wouldn’t count on this.
If your spouse has to get up early or the kids have swim practice they can enter it in their device and the info syncs to yours. So it connects the whole family.
Using other services APIs and content, the app should allow users to set any song, radio station, etc as their alarm based on the condition that woke them up. So if its raining, a motivational song that makes you feel better about the rain.
The app should also have the option of telling you when to go to sleep. The app might know that it will rain tomorrow so it will wake me up early. Therefore I’ll want to go to bed equally as early so that I don’t lose sleep
Provide a notification when changing time zone therefore an alarm set at 6am in new york can be updated for 6am in London, and then keep the same format, pulling data from weather, etc
Alarms would adjust during public transit delays.
User can customize how much each event impacts their alarm time.
Alarm time adjusts based on weather conditions, calendar appointments, and traffic conditions.
